Research
Research on Memory Keepers
Memory Keepers is a modified version of Cognitive Stimulation Therapy (CST). Since our start in 2020, we’ve collected data, resulting in a white paper discussing the outcomes.
Research on Cognitive Stimulation Therapy (CST)
Cognitive Stimulation Therapy (CST) has been widely researched, is used all over the world and provides a cost-effective way to encourage social interaction and positive connections, producing better mood, quality of life, and cognition.
- CST was developed by Dr. Amy Spector and other dementia experts. Information on CST is available through the International Cognitive Stimulation Therapy (CST) Centre, directed by Dr Spector. Link: University College London, Research on Cognitive Stimulation Therapy
- In the US, Saint Louis University has become a leader in implementing CST throughout the U.S.
The Effects of Social Isolation and Loneliness
The effects of social isolation on life expectancy are the same as smoking 15 cigarettes a day! With a 20% faster cognitive decline and 50% higher risk of dementia, chonic loneliness greatly impacts cognitive function as well. The healing effects of social connection and community cannot be understated.
