Memory Keepers was born out of the desire to enhance the lives of individuals with memory loss and their care partners. Each session with us is an opportunity to laugh, have fun and connect with others in a meaningful way.
Memory Keepers virtual sessions are based on the principles of Cognitive Stimulation Therapy (CST).
Cheryl and Britt are both certified providers of CST, an evidence-based program designed to improve the mental abilities and memory of someone with dementia.
Cheryl is a licensed clinical social worker and certified life coach with over 30 years experience working with older adults and caregivers. Cheryl teaches University-level courses on aging and recently launched a private counseling practice after working over 24 years for the Alzheimer's Association. Cheryl and her husband have an adorable (and very spoiled) Wheaton Terrier named Finnegan.
Britt is a licensed social worker and former Montessori teacher. Her passion for working with older adults started when she began taking care of her grandmother, who had Alzheimer's.
She continues to be influenced by Montessori in her work with older adults, which provides a methodology for constructive communication, fostering independence, self-efficacy and the cultivation of a community rooted in respect and dignity.
Britt also has a daily zen meditation practice with her cat, Sophie.
Cheryl offers caring and supportive individual counseling for older adults and caregivers of older adults through her private practice.
