Supporting Individuals Living with Dementia,
Through Non‑Pharmacological Interventions
Course Description:
This self-paced online, intermediate-level course is designed to equip participants with the knowledge and skills to provide effective support for individuals living with mild to moderate dementia. Participants will explore the importance and efficacy of non-pharmacological interventions, gaining an understanding of evidence-based approaches and strategies to enhance the quality of life for both individuals with dementia and their care partners. The course will cover disease education, psychotherapy, cognitive stimulation therapy, reminiscence therapy, Montessori for dementia, and caregiver support, allowing participants to conceptualize and apply these interventions in their professional roles.
The speakers are both licensed social workers (LCSW and LSW) and present this information based on their comprehensive experience, teaching, and individual research on these topics.
